SuperClubsPLUS

An online learning community for children aged 7 to 11

SuperClubs is a safely mediated online learning community for home and school, where your children can join more than 100,000 online friends.

There's so much to do, like hanging out in the Daily Forum, writing about books or films in the Media Dome, designing a robot in Creative Kids Club or learning ICT skills and getting a Star Award.

Here are the kinds of things SuperClubbers get up to:

  • email - communicate safely with their SuperClubber friends
  • homepages - build multimedia web pages about their interests
  • clubs - write articles for the community Clubs
  • forums - join discussions on fun and important stuff and school work
  • competitions - compete for Homepage of the Week and win great prizes
  • Star Awards - learn How to Be Safe Online or How to Use Multimedia

What do children learn?

Children have fun sharing their interests and at the same time they learn all sorts of things:

  • how to be safe and behave responsibly online
  • how to understand and work with others
  • how to communicate safely and effectively
  • how to learn lots of ICT skills
  • how to get help with all school subjects

Is SuperClubsPLUS safe?

How are members validated? - Most children join through school and teachers confirm they are genuine. If children join at home they need parental permission and there is a strict validation process.

How is communication monitored? - All communications are scanned to block bad language and to alert the mediators to anything unsafe.

How are children looked after? - Trained mediators are online when the SuperClubsPLUS is live - to monitor communications, keep children safe and help them. They contact teachers or parents if they have any serious concerns about a member.
