''I can explain!'' short film

A chance to watch a streamed version of a new film demonstrating how your child's learning development can be enhanced if you encourage them to explain things.

'I can explain!' is a short educational film produced by the Department for Education and Skills, designed to aid learning. The film stars James Nesbitt, best known for his roles in Cold Feet, Murphy's Law and the recent Yellow Pages commercials.

Nesbitt plays the father of a child who is attending secondary school and, through a variety of set pieces and situations, demonstrates how the ability to explain things is a key skill that everyone needs in life. Children who are able to take in information, process it and articulate it are more likely to succeed in their GCSEs as this is a discipline that occurs in all the subjects studied.
