‘Struggling with the pressures of modern parenting?’ webchat

On 14 May 2007 Jan Fry from UK charity Parentline Plus participated in a
Question and Answer session about important issues facing parents today.
With more than 24 million people in the UK caring for children; parent and
family issues high on the political agenda; and a host of popular television
programmes dedicated to parenting, the role of a parent has never been so
debated or scrutinized.
While much of this is welcome news, it has also left many parents feeling
confused, isolated and fearful of being labelled a 'bad' parent - not
knowing where to turn for sound and practical advice and reassurance.
In the webchat, Jan answers questions on issues such as bullying at school,
talking to your child about sex, parental influence, peer pressure and
discipline. She also provides information about where parents will be able to
get further advice.
Follow the link below to go to the webchat - you will need Windows Media Player
to view the video, which wan be downloaded from the webchat page. A transcript
of the Q&A session is also available.
